The Consultant will take a detailed history of your symptoms and examine you. You may request a chaperone if you require.
Your specialist consultant will often be able to diagnose the problem, however further investigations are sometimes necessary such as blood tests, X-rays, Ultrasound, CT scans and MRI scans. Our consultants work closely with only specialist expert musculoskeletal radiologists.
Dealing with your insurance company
All our consultants are recognised by all the major insurance companies and bill within their guidelines which means that you are not left to pay a shortfall.
Some medical Insurers request a referral from your GP or other specialist before agreeing to cover the costs. Please contact them prior to your first appointment to ensure they will authorise your claim. They will provide you with a pre-authorisation number for your consultation and treatment. Your Visit
When you arrive for your initial consultation, please report to the outpatients part of the hospital that you are visiting. You will be asked to fill out some forms about you and your medical history. Your consultant will then call you into a private room, and your consultant will then discuss your medical history and clinically examine the area you are seeing the consultant about. Please feel free to bring family or a friend along. If appropriate bring a pair of shorts for clinical examination. A chaperone is always available.
From there diagnostics may be organised, if you are not able to get a diagnosis on the day you may be called back for a follow-up consultation to discuss the results of the tests.
