Arthrosamid Injections
What are Arthrosamid injections and how do they work?
Arthrosamid injections are a promising new non-surgical treatment option for patients with osteoarthritis. The hydrogel is injected into your knee’s synovial cavity where it is then distributed within the synovial fluid. It then combines with the tissue lining of your knee joint. Ultimately, this cushions the knee joint and helps to reduce knee pain and stiffness.
Am I a suitable candidate for Arthrosamid injections?
Arthrosamid injections are typically used for patients with mild to moderate symptoms of osteoarthritis.
What do I need to do to prepare for an Arthrosamid injection?
Arthrosamid injections are administered in an outpatient appointment. Before the injection, you will be given antibiotics to protect you from any infection risk. The injection is performed under local anaesthetic so you can eat and drink as normal beforehand.
How long do the effects of Arthrosamid injections last?
Clinical trials may potentially show a long-lasting reduction in pain. Most patients experience benefits for up to three years following their injection.
